ROID INC, a California corporation ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the ROID mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Platform" or "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Platform. By using our Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Platform:

Personal Information:

  • Full name, username, email address, phone number
  • Profile photos and biographical information
  • Date of birth and gender
  • Location information (with your permission)
  • Social media handles and links
  • Payment information and billing details
  • Government-issued ID for verification purposes

Health and Fitness Data:

  • Step count, distance walked, and active calories burned
  • Heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and resting heart rate
  • Sleep duration and quality metrics
  • VO₂ Max and blood oxygen saturation levels
  • Body weight, body fat percentage, and composition
  • Workout performance data and exercise history
  • Mindfulness session data and daylight exposure
  • Environmental audio exposure levels
  • Daily health check-in responses and self-reported metrics
  • Progress photos and body measurements

Content and Social Data:

  • Posts, stories, reels, and other content you create
  • Comments, likes, and social interactions
  • Direct messages and communications
  • Follow relationships and social connections
  • Training programs and workout plans you create
  • Saved posts and favorite content
  • Music preferences and Apple Music integration data

Technical Data:

  • Device information (model, operating system, unique identifiers)
  • IP address and network information
  • App usage patterns and feature interactions
  • Crash reports and performance data
  • Log files and diagnostic information
  • Push notification tokens and preferences
  • Camera and photo library access data

Coach-Specific Data (for Coach Program participants):

  • Professional certifications and qualifications
  • Business information and tax identification
  • Training program sales and revenue data
  • Client interaction history and communications
  • Business analytics and performance metrics
  • Insurance information and liability coverage

2. How We Collect Information

3. How We Use Your Information

Service Provision:

  • Provide and maintain the Platform and its features
  • Calculate your personalized Health Score and fitness metrics
  • Enable social features and content sharing
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Facilitate coach-client relationships and communications
  • Provide AI-powered health coaching and recommendations

Personalization and Analytics:

  • Personalize your experience and recommend relevant content
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our services
  • Generate insights about your fitness progress and trends
  • Customize training programs and workout recommendations
  • Provide targeted notifications and reminders

Communication and Support:

  • Send you updates, notifications, and promotional materials
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Notify you about changes to our services or policies
  • Facilitate direct messaging between users

Safety and Compliance:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Deleting Your Data and Account

You have the right to delete your ROID account and the personal data associated with it at any time. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, content (posts, reels, comments), health and fitness data, any Facebook-related data (e.g., from Facebook sign-in or sharing), and other information we hold about you, subject to the retention periods described in Section 11 (Data Retention) for legal or operational purposes.

To delete your account yourself from the ROID app, follow the step-by-step instructions on our Delete Account page. If you prefer not to use the in-app flow or need assistance, you can request account deletion by emailing privacy@roid.app.

8. Health Data and HealthKit Integration

  • Health data is encrypted and stored separately from other information
  • HealthKit integration requires explicit permission for each data type
  • You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through iOS Settings
  • Health data is used solely for fitness tracking and personalization
  • We do not share identifiable health data with third parties
  • Health information is processed in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
  • You can disable health data collection in Privacy Settings

Note: Disabling health data collection will limit certain app features including Health Score calculation, AI coaching, and personalized recommendations.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

For users between 13 and 18 years old, we require parental consent for certain data collection practices and provide additional privacy protections.

10. International Data Transfers

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by regulatory authorities
  • Adequacy decisions by relevant data protection authorities
  • Certification under approved frameworks (Privacy Shield successors)
  • Other legally approved transfer mechanisms

11. Data Retention

  • Account information: Until account deletion plus 30 days
  • Health data: Until account deletion or data deletion request
  • Content and posts: Until deletion by user or account termination
  • Communication records: 7 years for legal compliance
  • Financial records: 7 years for tax and regulatory purposes
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized after 2 years

You can request earlier deletion of your data by contacting our support team.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
  • Right to request specific pieces of personal information

13. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

15. Third-Party Services

  • Apple HealthKit for health data integration
  • Apple Music for music streaming in stories
  • Firebase for authentication and data storage
  • Payment processors for financial transactions
  • Social media platforms for content sharing
  • Analytics and crash reporting services

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on our Platform, sending you a notification through the app, emailing you, or requiring acknowledgment of changes for continued use. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
